Price level

Denmark is a welfare state and the Danes have in several surveys been refered to as "The happiest people in the world". The wages in Denmark are very high compared to other european countries, but so is the price level

Here are some examples of the price level in Denmark.

Groceries

A Danish research has shown that the average food and drink consumption for men are approximately €230 per month and €180 per month for women. These numbers are made assuming that the shopping has been in the cheapest supermarkets. Of course the numbers can vary. In general, the smaller discount chains are cheaper than the larger supermarkets.

Where to save money

The Danish libraries offer a wide collection of movies, books, CDs etc, which can be borrowed for free.

Books

VIA has a book store at the school.

The book store sells books, paper and lots of other accessories that can help you. As a student, there is a 10% discount on books. The book store does not sell or buy used books.

To buy used books, it is recommended to search on the internet, or ask other students having taken the same course.

Usually, you will be told in the first lesson, which books to purchase for the given course.
